The model redesign for the 2012 Dodge Durango is gonna be one to look out for. We expect this to be riding on a lengthened version of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cheroke platform, which was developed alongside the next Mercedes-Benz ML. The front fascia will be distinctly different from that of the current Durango, with an even larger surface area including the notable presence of a hefty chin. Although the front-door length appears to be similar in size to, if not longer than, the current model’s, the rear doors are definitely stretched, as is the rear overhang, pointing to what we hope is a roomy third row.
As far as engines are concerned, expect to find the new corporate Pentastar V-6 underhood with some 280 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. A 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 will be available for power-hungry customers or those looking for added utility. An all-wheel-drive option is a given.
